D Art Slam

This first annual exhibit welcomed established artists and newcomers from the Dallas area. I was honored to be accepted as an exhibitor where I displayed seven pieces from my Art of Smoke series.
Dia De Los Muertos (Day Of The Dead)
Presented by The Bath House Cultural Center, Dallas, TX
This was a collaboration of three artists. Metal crafter Russ Sharek (The Morpheus Company), carpenter Michael Scogin, and I combined our efforts to produce a unique mixed media sculpture titled La Petit Mort, a bronze skeleton bracelet a with wood coffin case and photographic background as a "resting place". Russ Sharek created the concept/design of this anatomically functional skeleton bracelet and brought Michael Scogin in to skillfully craft the hand made red velvet lined coffin, while I provided the manipulated photograph of the never ending open grave background.
